Group Commercial Accountant
The Group Commercial Accountant will assist in providing financial analysis to the business, development of the accounting system and work on other ad hoc projects. This role is an existing one and the vacancy has arisen through the internal promotion of the previous incumbent.
The role reports to the Group Commercial Finance Manager.
The key responsibilities of the role include;
Provide financial analysis - which primarily comprises:
• Assessment of new projects (mainly those with prospective/actual clients but also internal ones)
• Operation, maintenance & development of rental/retail models and the processes around them
• Being pro-active in making recommendations re existing clients/contracts (e.g. upgrades, prolongations etc.)
Accounting system, processes and chart of accounts - maintain & develop these in a suitable manner in order to improve and make more efficient current reporting
Other adhoc support, e.g. around developmental areas of the business, M&A activity or other matters as needed by the Group Commercial Finance Manager
Your experience:
You will be an accountant with strong experience of the above responsibilities in a group finance function. The ideal candidate will have strong influencing capabilities and will help drive financial improvement within the business.
Your capabilities:
You will need to be self-motivated and be capable of driving through activities to tight timetables. You will particularly need to demonstrate these skills:
• Excellent communication
• Strong report writing
• Analytical ability
• Time management & responsiveness
• Strong excel ability
• Knowledge of Navision would be an advantage but is not essential
Education / Training
AAT qualified and further studying (CIMA / ACCA) preferred but relevant experience / proven track record in a commercial finance role is essential.
