We have an exciting opportunity for an Education Programme Officer to join us based in the Glasgow Science Centre, salary circa £30,000 + Bens

Due to this growth we have a new opportunity for an Education Programme Officer to join us. Reporting to our Regional Manager you will be working in partnership with the Glasgow Science Centre to increase attendances at the centre IMAX screen and across our Scottish cinemas through developing the educational film programming offer to primary schools, secondary and further education.
This is an opportunity to make a difference, to really promote Cineworld within educational programming, working closely with cinema management, marketing, film buying and the corporate events team to develop schools visits and block bookings across the region. Additionally you will work with Scottish educational establishments, schools and colleges to develop film making and media awareness activity and use across the estate within the National Curriculum.
As our Education Programme officer you will:
· Develop and promote both the range of films and activities on offer to the existing GSC schools and new audiences across Scotland.
· Develop alternative content events including lectures
· Develop a clear understanding of the opportunities created by the media and film making elements of Scottish education, including the "Scottish Curriculum for Excellence"
· Build links with schools and universities; developing those links either by facilitating visits to the cinema or creating activities that include cinema-going.
· Creating and implementing programmes of activity around target groups
· Creating ways of adding value to cinema-goers that increase their enjoyment of visiting the cinema and also broaden their depth of knowledge about cinema ('cineliteracy')
· Working to support Cinemas with Film festivals
· Applying for relevant funding to increase the range and depth of the team's activities.
As our Education Programme Officer you will need to have a strong passion and knowledge of education within Scotland including an understanding of the National Curriculum. You will need a strong interest in film and marketing with experience of setting up and delivering programmes of some shape or form. You will need to be a self starter and have the confidence to communicate at all levels combined with strong organisational and influencing skills.
